The Tampa Bay Tigers MAA Chapter is proud to represent and serve the nearly 1400 Mizzou alumni that live in our area and we also welcome Tiger alums, friends and families that visit Florida’s Suncoast. We are a relatively new chapter– in our 6th year– but we are very active in support of MAA’s mission of “Making Mizzou Stronger”, bringing together Tigers of all stripes and deepening the local awareness of one of America’s finest educational institutions– the University of Missouri!
Since our (recent) beginning, we have consistently reached MAA’s highest level of achievement, “Columns” status. That enables us to support local Tampa Bay area high school students with scholarships contributing to their enrollment at Mizzou. We currently have four students on campus under this program and couldn’t be more proud. In addition, TBT represents Mizzou at local and regional college recruitment events– that last year– were attended by more than 25,000 kids, parents and school representatives.
Our activities range from watch parties for football and basketball to museum visits, networking Happy Hours, community service activities and much more. This Spring we hosted new Chancellor Loftin for his first off-campus event. Our “Tigers Tourin’ Tampa Bay” and Lunch Bunch(es) programs are designed to share the riches of the Suncoast and bring activities closer to our members. We cover a big geographical footprint: Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota counties.
